Jeffrey Homan joins Georgia Charter Schools Association as
Director of Certification Programs
Atlanta – The Georgia Charter Schools Association (GCSA) has tapped charter school principal Jeffrey Homan to be its new Director of Certification Programs.
For the past three years Homan has been the principal of The Main Street Academy, a highly successful K-8 Fulton County charter school located in College Park, Georgia.
“Jeff Homan is a teacher’s teacher, with more than 20 years of classroom, curriculum and supervisory experience under his belt,” said Elisa Falco, GCSA’s Vice President of School Services. “His depth in coaching, inspiring and mentoring teachers makes him the perfect choice to lead our certification programs. Jeff is certified in Leadership Preparation Performance Coaching and knows what it takes to build a robust pipeline of top notch charter educators.”
Homan will oversee candidates for GCSA’s GaTAPP program — a performance-based, job-embedded teacher preparation program specifically for charter school teachers. He will also supervise candidates in GCSA’s Aspiring Teachers Institute – a program that trains aspiring teachers as they prepare for charter school careers.
Homan did his undergraduate work in education at Miami University, and earned his Masters in Educational Leadership at Columbus State. He completed an Educational Specialist degree at Valdosta State and holds several leadership certifications in Georgia. He and his family live in Griffin, Georgia.
